Hi selfshippers,

This is a little bit of a more somber post... hopefully it won't be too bad, but Venus hasn't been very active in the selfship community as of late and that's mostly because she's been busy with school and her IRL partners. Her f/os kind of go in and out sometimes, and it's kind of hard to get back into the headspace where she's being completely consumed by thoughts of an f/o once that phase has ended. And she's kind of missing her old out-of-phase f/os and wants to revive them, but doesn't exactly know how...? Does anyone else experience this?

The dissected grace is probably going to try to bring back the thoughts about her OC f/o, Dacha (a pretty vampire boy priest that's very mentally unstable and sickly) or Double Trouble from She-Ra (who she calls Liz as shorthand). But she doesn't know if she'll be able to get back into that headspace ever again, and that kind of... hurts.

I'm a little late, but I can offer some help since I tend to do this a lot since I have multiple f/o's from multiple sources I cycle through.

Firstly, the fact that you have the desire at all is a big step!!! If you didn't still like them, you wouldn't even think to bring them back. I don't know if this is entirely helpful, but i made a list of things that may help being that back more.

1. In any way possible, engaging with the source material helps put you back into world. It could be through the original thing itself, or through fanart/fanfic. Just wanting to reconnect with them is a starting point, and so engaging with them/their world re-instates their place in your head even more and can help you feel closer.

2. Creating something with them/with them in mind. It could be a drawing or even a collage. They could be featured in it, or it could have some sort of theme/look based around them that doesn't directly reference them. (Ex: creating something with things that remind you of them.)

3. I did this one accidentally today actually XD but listen to music that reminds you of them. It could be something that you could relate to their backstory/life, or you might just hear a song and suddenly think they'd like it.

There's always more out there, but those are some things that seem to help me in the past. :3
