Good morning (or afternoon, or night), happy Monday to all (unless it's not Monday in your timezone). Although for those of us who are employed or in education, it may not be very happy! The Lady of the Meats is a selfshipper who is excited to join this community. She has been selfshipping for at least eight years: she believes that her first F/O was Bill Cipher of Gravity Falls.

Right now, her F/Os are:

She mostly falls in love with canon F/Os for their looks first, and then warms up to their personalities. However, for OCs, it's quite the opposite.

All of her self-inserts tend to be different in many ways and have heavy lore, so it's quite difficult to describe them concisely, especially given that she's a big OC selfshipper. However, some of her previous work can be seen at her tumblr. Thanks for having her!

being considerably older even within the known active adult sphere of self-shippers(as far as I can tell), I feel anxious, awkward, and left out. I am unsure this community will help me feel any better in that regard, but I suppose there's nothing to lose by joining.

1. How long have you been selfshipping for? When did you first realize that your love for certain characters were more than just crushes?
idk. been over half my life. but I process this stuff differently than others. I haven't had a long-standing fictional other in a long time.
2. Who are your f/o(s)? What media are they from? If you'd like to, attach a picture of them (make sure to put large images under a cut).
apologies, but I am unwilling to name/share them publicly. this is a publicly viewable post, so, yeah.
3. What part of your f/o(s) initially attracted you to them? Their personality, looks, backstory, etc.
well. that's Complicated and varies from character to character. of the current 3, 2 of them it's entirely looks, and all personality for them is my personal headcanon. sure that increases attraction and interest, but it's still purely made up by me. for the third, ummmmmm. well. he's cute, but not conventionally attractive by any means, and my Actual Feelings are hard to explain, given how I process things.

1. so, i've been selfshipping since 12, but i didn't know about selfshipping at that time. i only learned recently in the summer of 2023, thanks to

terrorgutz telling me abt it + a magicmush video about the sonic passion forums.

2. i have my f/os in my bio and i have an f/o list on my tumblr (which are good places to check if this updates), but my current f/os are Mark Heathcliff (the mandela catalogue), Jonah Marshall (tmc), Ada (Adam) Murray (tmc), Boyfriend (friday night funkin'), and Cesar Torres (tmc). i'm also crushing on Banhammer (phighting!/roblox), so not a confirmed f/o.
3. to be honest? i don't really know. for f/os like mark and ada (and maybe jonah?), it stems from a weird fixation i had on them before i learned about selfshipping. so it's either usually a fixation on the character (bf and the tmc f/os) or just that i like their appearance and/or imagining myself with them (banhammer).

4. i usually try to have s/is for each f/o, although some of them share s/is. ethan was originally an s/i for mark selfshipping, but also used for selfshipping with cesar, angel is for jonah, ritualfriend is for boyfriend, and i don't really have a solid s/i for ada yet, just a vague idea. i wanna make an s/i for phighting, and it'll probably be based on the attack doge gear.

5. i haven't made many fanworks yet (mostly just daydreaming n posting about daydreaming on ddgc), but i plan to eventually. hoping to draw some selfship art!!!!

1. My first REAl F/O that I felt an attraction and connection with was Freddy Krueger at the age of around 8 or so. I still have a tiny notebook with doodles about my day to day life causally featuring the horror movie character's I liked as if they were family members. I think I also had some on my old Nintendo DS.

2. I have a list of them right here that gets updated on and off, but I'll name off my current ones here: Guybrush Threepwood (Monkey Island), David (SAW), Robin Of Loxley (Robin Hood: Men In Tights) Will Scarlett (Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves.)

3. Well... I have types, that's the best way to describe it. They can be be a mix of funny, swashbuckling, and confident, or maybe they could reserved, sad and aggressive or they could even be soft, kind and submissive. all those traits i tend to fall for, especially if it's a mix of different ones form different sides. basically, if i call them "cute", "silly" or i say something like "i want to take care of him" that's a very possible sign that they are/will become an F/O
4. I have too many random and undeveloped S/I's. I usually just use myself but dressed up to fit the world my F/O is in.

5. The only place I post my F/O stuff is NSFW and I feel I shouldn't be sharing that here, so I'll share the little collection of playlists I have for my F/O's (All the songs are based around general character fitting vibes, my own headcanons for them or songs that fit my relationship with them)

1. I've been selfshipping since I was a little girl. In fact, I think the first character I could really classify as an f/o was Scorch from this shitty, forgettable kids film called Escape from Planet Earth. I used to draw pictures of him and I and show them to my elementary school classmates who all thought it was cringe, but that didn't stop me from drawing even more.

2. My current f/os are Bertholdt Hoover, Floch Forster, and Legato Bluesummers. Bertholdt and Floch are both from Attack on Titan while Legato is from Trigun. I'd say Bertholdt is the one I'm attached to the most.

3. Alot of my f/os are characters that go relatively unappreciated by their respective fandoms, though lately theres been more love for Bertholdt. I think they're all much more complex than members of the fandom give them credit for, especially Floch and Legato.

5. I don't really make playlists for my ships, but I enjoy making them for the specific character instead. I've been developing one for Bertholdt lately.
