1. How long have you been selfshipping for? When did you first realize that your love for certain characters were more than just crushes?
2. Who are your f/o(s)? What media are they from? If you'd like to, attach a picture of them (make sure to put large images under a cut).
3. What part of your f/o(s) initially attracted you to them? Their personality, looks, backstory, etc.

scissorseveredI'm Doutzen :). I noticed that Dreamwidth doesn't have many selfshippers around, and it can be a bit hard to find others in the community, so I decided to make this place as a little hub for other selfshippers to find eachother!

March 10th: the day I finally realized just how much he means to me. The day I first accepted that he was more than just a muse.
Legato, you've made me more happy than I can even say. I know you're not real, and that a "real" relationship can't ever happen between us, but that doesn't stop me from being so madly in love with you. Just seeing your face makes my heart flutter; just thinking about you puts a smile on my face. I wish you could know how loved you are. I want to love you forever. <3

terrorgutzI know I haven't posted in awhile, but I've been wanting to be more active in the selfship community and there's no better place for me than here. :3 I remembered a little mspaint doodle I did awhile ago that I thought people might appreciate, but first, a little introduction of sorts.
This is also an older doodle of mine, but on the right is my S/I, Mikey, and on the left is my F/O, Guybrush. Just for clarification (And so you get to see Mikey in his beautiful glory and not just in mspaint scribbles lol

Yesterday I went to Walmart with a friend of mine to pick up some craft supplies, and I saw these that reminded me so much of Legato, so I made a simple little necklace out of them using some hemp cord. I know it's pretty rudimentary, but I still love having something physical to remind me of my love <3.
Unfortunately, I also managed to tie the cord's knot too tight and it won't fit around my head so I can actually wear it. If I can't manage to get the knot undone then I guess I'll hang it up somewhere for decoration, or maybe I'll just take the beads off and put them on a new cord that I didn't totally mess up.
Missing old f/os?

This is a little bit of a more somber post... hopefully it won't be too bad, but Venus hasn't been very active in the selfship community as of late and that's mostly because she's been busy with school and her IRL partners. Her f/os kind of go in and out sometimes, and it's kind of hard to get back into the headspace where she's being completely consumed by thoughts of an f/o once that phase has ended. And she's kind of missing her old out-of-phase f/os and wants to revive them, but doesn't exactly know how...? Does anyone else experience this?
The dissected grace is probably going to try to bring back the thoughts about her OC f/o, Dacha (a pretty vampire boy priest that's very mentally unstable and sickly) or Double Trouble from She-Ra (who she calls Liz as shorthand). But she doesn't know if she'll be able to get back into that headspace ever again, and that kind of... hurts.

Nov. 15th, 2023 01:20 amterrorgutzI posted about it on my journal a few days ago, but I managed to sit down and finish the paint job for a Guybrush art doll I sculpted in a random burst of motivation. I just need to pick up some yellow yarn for his hair, trim and style that and I move onto his clothes/body. Before I even know it, I'll be done. I'm not going to post any pictures just yet, since he looks a little weird without his hair currently, but I plan to take a ton when I'm done. >:3 I have lots of things I could pose him with, and I even have some old Barbie clothes laying around I could probably fit on him lol.
I thought to make it both because Guybrush doesn't really have merch outside of 2 statues I can think of that were packaged with special editions, and because I just love making crafts of my F/O's. I sorta have a mini collection of sculptures I've made of past F/O's over the years that rang from all different sizes (Guybrush now being the biggest.) If this goes over well, I might just try making some more. If I were to make another, I think I'd try David. I've been thinking about him a lot recently and I think he would be very fun to sculpt and dress. Who knows.

His name is Crux raven Orquídea Landa Melchior and she loves him VERY MUCH. Despite being a lesbian, her self-insert who she ships with him is a gay man. Anyways, he actually originates from an obscure YA book, called "Ink in the Blood", which the Lady read many moons ago, and fell in love with immediately! Unfortunately, she didn't realize that he was ostensibly meant to be a teenager?. He does not read like a teenager at all and she dislikes shipping herself with underage characters! Anyways. At that point, she realized she had changed far too much about his character, and he was essentially an OC by this point, so she changed his name and ended up creating an entirely new lore/mythos around him and two of the other characters from the original book. And she quite likes the new version better, actually.
The quandary is, do you think that she could write an actual, real-life book about him and his friends? She has basically... changed literally EVERYTHING about the original plot so she doesn't think there should be any legal difficulty, but she's also scared to put him out into the world. Because what if he isn't hers anymore? Much to think about...

and im... murdoc_niccals here. AND im murdoc-niccals on cohost. i just love it i find it so fitting that i have these usernames. i love him so much i want his name to be right next to mine on every account i have. and whats truly beautiful to me is that anyone who looks up his name in users. my account will be the first that shows up. and... im self shipping with him completely unashamedly. its great

The Lady of the Meats' Intro Post

Although for those of us who are employed or in education, it may not be very happy! The Lady of the Meats is a selfshipper who is excited to join this community. She has been selfshipping for at least eight years: she believes that her first F/O was Bill Cipher of Gravity Falls.

During F/OVember you can create an "f/o takeover" post on your blog declaring that your asks are open to any question regarding your f/os. You can also roleplay as your f/os if you wish. Profovember is basically the same thing but more geared towards proshippers or anyone else that doesn't want to post in the main tag which was created by an anti, where you can post more about f/os that are more of a taboo nature.
mirrorworldi'm gonna get it out of the way at the start of this point: it's pico from newgrounds. i think he's really cute (especially in specific fanarts from this one artist), and he has a lot of the meta traits my other f/os have; i've previously fixated on him for long periods of time, and like ada, he was a big part of my identity when i was younger.
i just wanna give him a big kiss. i think he's a lot like me: traumatized and secretly a pokemon trapped in a human body. if that makes sense, because the latter is a headcanon but the former is based in real lore. he's not a confirmed f/o yet, just a silly crush, but i'll see where it goes.

terrorgutzI made these lieel kandi bracelets for 2 of my F/O's awhile ago. :3 First one is for Guybrush, and the other is (obviously) for Robin.
Other than being a fun thing to make, they're also cute and subtle reminders of them! I hope to make more inthe future.

3. to be honest? i don't really know. for f/os like mark and ada (and maybe jonah?), it stems from a weird fixation i had on them before i learned about selfshipping. so it's either usually a fixation on the character (bf and the tmc f/os) or just that i like their appearance and/or imagining myself with them (banhammer).

4. i usually try to have s/is for each f/o, although some of them share s/is. ethan was originally an s/i for mark selfshipping, but also used for selfshipping with cesar, angel is for jonah, ritualfriend is for boyfriend, and i don't really have a solid s/i for ada yet, just a vague idea. i wanna make an s/i for phighting, and it'll probably be based on the attack doge gear.
5. i haven't made many fanworks yet (mostly just daydreaming n posting about daydreaming on ddgc), but i plan to eventually. hoping to draw some selfship art!!!!

Oct. 18th, 2023 10:38 amscissorseveredThis is my favorite picture of him. I actually have it set as my profile picture on Rate Your Music too. Someone on tumblr once said he looked like a member of the Visual Kei band in the 1990s and I whole-heartedly agree.
It makes me sad to think about how in canon, he's really only allowed to serve one purpose without getting to expand on his character. In turn, most of the fanworks I see for him have to do with his relationship with Knives. It makes sense; after all, Knives is the reason he is alive and free of the hell he once lived in, but at the same time I wish we had more discussion of how he sees himself.
